More than 1,200 graduate as part of CCU's Class of 2019
Coastal Carolina University graduates are exactly what the world needs, according to commencement speaker and doctoral candidate Leigha Peterson. Peterson addressed the graduating class of 2019 - more than 1,200 students - during three separate commencement ceremonies at the HTC Student Recreation and Convocation Center May 10-11. "Whatever you are, put it out there," she said, "because it is better than good enough. It is exactly what the world needs!"

More than 700 graduate from Coastal Carolina University
Coastal Carolina University held two commencement ceremonies on Dec. 14, and more than 700 students were eligible to participate. Ceremonies were held at 2 and 6 p.m. in the HTC Student Recreation and Convocation Center. Barbara Blain-Bellamy, mayor of Conway, S.C., was the speaker.

More than 2,000 students named to Dean's List at CCU for the Spring 2018 semester
More than 2,000 Coastal Carolina University students were named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2018 semester. Students who make the Dean's List have achieved a 3.5 GPA or higher during the semester. CCU has a student population of 10,600.

Approximately 2.419 students have made the Fall Semester 2017 Dean's List for academic achievement at Coastal Carolina University. To qualify for the Dean's List, freshmen must earn a 3.25 grade point average, and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 grade point average.

CCU students help HUD count homeless population
Nearly 50 Coastal Carolina University students have volunteered to help count the local homeless population for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) earlier in the spring semester 2017. The Point-In-Time (PIT) count helps to identify needs and allocate federal resources. The students, mostly from CCU's social inequality and race and ethnicity classes, visited 12 different shelters and places where the homeless gather, according to Stephanie Southworth, Ph.D.
